You can use this list to clean your home up for Spring, or to prepare for a potential sale. Happy Cleaning!!
- Remove and donate unwanted items, reorganize and clean closets, attic, basement and garage
- Power wash exterior walls, porch floors, deck, patio, driveway, sidewalks and awnings
- Clean outdoor furniture, umbrellas and outdoor light fixtures
- Use Rustoleum spray paint to touch-up any metal outdoor furniture or heat lamps
- Wash windows inside and out
- Sweep the top of your roof (if it’s flat), Clean out gutters
- Clean out refrigerator and freezer, making sure to vacuum the grill and coil
- Remove lint from the hose attached to back of clothes dryer
- Vacuum baseboards, walls and ceilings, wipe down walls
- Repaint baseboards if necessary, touch-up wall paint
- Steam clean carpets and area rugs and upholstery
- Reseal natural stone surfaces (travertine, etc)
- Reseal and repair grout in bathtubs and showers
- Scrape and paint the ceiling in your shower or bathtub
- Clean window treatments, dust and clean blinds and shutters
- Remove items from all shelves, dust and clean
- Oil hinges
If you’ve done all that and you’re still looking for projects, keep going:
- Clear out all flower beds of old plants / “leggy” plants, weeds
- Replant annuals and perrenials
- Fertilize your flowers
- Reseed and fertilize your lawn
- Remove house numbers and mailbox, clean and paint
- Clean and repaint front gate or fence
- Remove oil stains from your driveway, reseal
- Add new pots with flowers to the entrance of your home
- Add new plants to the interior of your home, heeding light requirements
- Sanitize your frequently used items – cell phone, telephones, tv remotes, toilet handles, sink handles, purse bottom
- Scrub your stove top
- Organize and clear your file cabinet
- Buy some new throw pillows for your couch and bed
- Buy some new decorative towels for your kitchen
